A Prayer

Something To Mediate On . . .

(Maurice’s Note: “Something To Meditate On” is a weekly devotional written by our organic church friend Blanca Ayre of Hays Kansas, whose own “good deeds” story can be found on page 172 of our book, The Least Of These).

A Prayer

Lord God, help me to walk worthy today, “with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love, in the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:1-3)

Lord, I confess I am not as lowly or meek as I should be, and sometimes it takes me longer to see things from an eternal perspective and to practice it. Please forgive me.

Lord, I pray that I will learn to suffer longer for others than I do, knowing you suffered long for me. That I will go before someone whose need is greater than my own and meet that need in glory by Christ Jesus. That I will stay sensitive to your Spirit so not to overlook, neglect, or ignore the needs of those around me. That by your grace I will be able to do all this and more, keeping the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, in name of JESUS. Amen.
